We can celebrate never having to watch the Speak No Evil trailer again.
NYFF P+I started this week. Great lineup. Best show is sometimes on Film Twitter where all the journalists get in fights with each other. There’s always some kinda weird / hilarious drama / trauma. My favorite room in the world with some of my favorite psychopaths.
Alexandre Aja has a new movie out—Never Let Go. Gonna see it this weekend. Strange career for that guy. He should be the biggest. High Tension began the trend of putting slow mangled ominous covers of pop songs in trailers. I don’t think people realize that. I think this was the one, but it’s in the movie much cooler, as it should be:
Piranha 3D is one of my favorite movies of all time and one of the only redos of this type ever to do justice to its source material. He honored Joe Dante’s work rather than whatever these weirdos remaking The Burbs are gonna do. He does these small movies for some reason, I don’t get it. Why can’t we have him doing things instead of clowns like Fede Alvarez and Dan Trachtenberg?
Also in other news Rainforest Cafe coming to NYC. Relevant because Rainforest Cafe is Cinema!
